The Retail Design Collective 2014
ARE Retail Design Collective New York City is the most important visual merchandising event in the United States.
Mannequin and visual merchandising suppliers open their showrooms to present their newest collections and products. The Goldsmith Showroom in New York City will showcase the latest products from the international collections of Goldsmith (US), Window Mannequins (Paris) and Atrezzo (Barcelona).
The Showrooms will be open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily and its VIP Cocktail Party will be held Thursday, December 4 from 8 p.m-11 p.m. (by invitation only).
Macy’s Passport Presents Glamorama 2014
For the last nine years, Goldsmith has been a proud sponsor of the Macy’s Passport Glamorama Fashion Rocks event along with other leading manufacturers and fashion industry icons.
This year marks the 32nd anniversary of Macy’s premier fashion event. Traditionally, it was co-chaired by longtime-champion of the cause, the late dame Elizabeth Taylor and has raised more than $32 million to support HIV/AIDS charities, organizations and research projects in Los Angeles and San Francisco. This year’s opening night event, the Fashion Rocks Party in Los Angeles, will be held Tuesday, September 9, 2014.

The International Retail Design Conference

Retail Magazine and Saks Fifth Avenue Student Window Challenge
Design Retail, in cooperation with Saks Fifth Avenue, hosted the third-annual Student Window Challenge. Goldsmith was honored to be one of the industry sponsors.
The event brought together visual merchandising students from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) and LIM College, giving them a chance to win a mentorship with the Saks window team.
The daylong challenge, held inside the Fifth Avenue flagship store in New York culminated with an after party and awards presentation hosted by Design:Retail, Saks and supporting sponsors.
LIM College 75th Commencement
The 2014 LIM College commencement ceremony took place at the Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center in New York City.
Dan Evans, Advisory Board Member to the college and President & Creative Director of Goldsmith, presented the Annual Visual Merchandising Award. Goldsmith has been the proud sponsor of this award for the last two years.
ICFF The International Contemporary Furniture Fair
The ICFF International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York City opened on Saturday, May 17. Its annual Opening Cocktail Party was held at the Modern Museum of Modern Art Gardens, where Goldsmith hosted VIP clients and guests.
During the four day event, the Goldsmith NYC showroom was open by appointment, where it showcased its new Modular Art and Furniture Collection. The new collection will be available for viewings at the showroom through September 2014.
Indiana University Field Trip
Dan Evans hosted a showroom event and talk for the Senior Apparel Class at the University of Indiana during a recent field trip to New York City. The Evans/Goldsmith Mannequin event has proven to be one of the highlights of the senior class for the last few years.
LIM Senior Class Capstone Presentation
Dan Evans, a 12-year Advisory Board Member to LIM College, served as one of the Industry Judges for the 2014 Senior Class Capstone Presentation. This year’s focus was the complete remodel of the Saks Fifth Avenue store in Mexico City. On April 18, prior to the capstone presentation, the senior class used the Goldsmith Showroom as their workshop for inspiration.
Indiana University Round Table
Dan Evans as a member of the National Apparel Merchandising Advisory Council for the university hosted a round table discussion on “Visual Merchandising and Fashion” for the apparel merchandising class of 2014.

Fusion on the TODAY Show!
Fusion Specialties, Inc. was featured on the TODAY show Tuesday, April 29, during their Body Image Series. Fusion created five custom mannequins based on the dimensions of real people with non-traditional body types within the retail industry. The finished forms were revealed to the candidates live on the show. Fusion also created a custom form for each of the four TODAY show hosts using three-dimensional data.
“This is the second time that Fusion has had the honor to be featured on the TODAY show. It is unique for any mannequin company to receive this type of attention and a testimony to the quality of our custom development,” said Peter Huston, brand president of Fusion Specialties, Inc.
